Lyft Explainer 2013

Gosh, this feels vintage.
When we were creating this, John Zimmer was still serving as Creative Director (in addition to, oh, being President and Co-Founder) and giving specific, detailed notes at every stage. At the time, the directive was to keep the authentic, grassroots feel -- right down to discarding the professional VO we had recorded and using the voice of our fearless Brand leader, the wonderful Gina Ma!
Despite the quick timeline and low budget, I had a ball working with two of my favorite human beings on animation, and having the guidance of John, a man with incredible vision and heart. He loved referencing Dr. Seuss and Willy Wonka...it doesn't get much better than that!
This project was my gateway drug that had me give up my freewheeling freelance lifestyle and commit to Lyft for what has now been almost 4 years!
